Plaid Privacy Notice

Last Updated: April 7, 2026

Overview

This document explains how OCM (On Christ's Mission Holdings LLC) uses Plaid Inc. to securely connect your bank account for donations. We believe in transparency, so we've written this in plain language without legal jargon.

What Is Plaid?

OCM uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”), a trusted financial technology company, to securely connect your bank account to our platform. When you choose to link your bank account for ACH donations, Plaid handles the secure connection between your bank and OCM's payment systems. Plaid is used by thousands of trusted financial apps including major banks, fintech companies, and non-profit platforms.

What Data Does Plaid Access?

When you connect your bank account through Plaid, we access the following information via two Plaid products:

From Plaid Auth (for account verification):
  • Your bank account and routing numbers (to enable ACH transfers)
  • Your account holder name (to verify account ownership)
  • Account balance information (to verify sufficient funds)
From Plaid Transactions (for financial reconciliation and reporting):
  • Your transaction history (deposits, expenses, transfers)
  • Transaction dates, amounts, and descriptions
What Plaid does NOT access:
  • Identity documents (driver's license, passport, etc.)
  • Investment or brokerage accounts
  • Your banking username or password

OCM uses Plaid's Auth product (to verify your bank account and routing numbers for ACH transfers) and Transactions product (to retrieve transaction history for reconciliation and financial reporting purposes).

How Is This Data Used?

Your bank account information is used solely for one purpose: to enable ACH donations to your parish. ACH donations have lower processing costs than credit or debit card donations, which means more of your gift reaches your parish. There is no other use.

How OCM Stores Your Information

Your bank username and password are never seen or stored by OCM. You enter them directly into Plaid's secure interface, not into OCM.

What OCM does store:
  • A secure access token (not your banking credentials) that allows us to initiate ACH transfers and retrieve transaction history on your behalf
  • This token is stored securely using industry-standard encryption
  • Transaction history retrieved from Plaid Transactions (dates, amounts, descriptions for reconciliation)
  • You can revoke this token at any time (see “Your Choices” below)

Plaid's Privacy Practices

Plaid has its own privacy policy that governs how it collects, uses, and protects your financial data. We encourage you to review it at: https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy

Your Choices

You can disconnect your bank account at any time. Here's what happens:

  • You go to OCM Engagement app settings or contact us directly
  • OCM securely deletes the connection credentials from our systems
  • OCM notifies Plaid to revoke access to your bank account

When disconnected, Plaid no longer has the ability to connect to your bank account on your behalf. Your bank account information is no longer accessible through OCM.
