Donor Terms of Use
Last Updated: April 7, 2026
Welcome to the OCM Giving Platform. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain how we work with you to process your donations, manage your giving preferences, and support your parish. Please read these Terms carefully before using our services.
“We,” “us,” “our,” and “OCM” refer to On Christ's Mission Holdings LLC. “You,” “your,” and “donor” refer to you, the person making a donation or using OCM's giving services. “Platform” refers to our website, mobile app (OCM Engagement), and related services. “Parish” refers to your local Roman Catholic parish or school that uses OCM's Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the OCM Platform, creating an account, linking your bank account, or making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any updates to these Terms.
1A. Eligibility and Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to create an account, link a bank account, or make a donation through the Platform. If you are between 13 and 17 years of age, you may use the Platform only with the verified consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. OCM does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and associated data immediately.
2. Our Services
OCM provides the following services to help you give to your parish:
- One-time and recurring donation processing via credit card or bank transfer.
- Bank account linking via Plaid (a secure, third-party service) to enable ACH transfers.
- Co-branded OCM Giving Card application and rewards management.
- Volunteer sign-up and event registration (via OCM Engagement app).
- Annual giving statement generation showing your annual donation history.
3. How Donations Work
Here's how your donations flow from you to your parish:
- You visit your parish's giving page or open the OCM Engagement mobile app.
- You enter your desired donation amount and select the fund or purpose (e.g., General Operating Fund, Maintenance & Repair, etc.).
- You choose a donation frequency (one-time, weekly, monthly, or custom).
- You select your payment method (credit card or bank account).
- You review and confirm your donation details.
- Your donation is processed by Stripe (our payment processor) and transferred directly to your parish's bank account.
Your parish is the recipient of your donation and is the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization on whose behalf the donation is received. OCM is the technology platform facilitating the donation — we do not receive or hold your donated funds.
4. Payment Methods
4.1 Credit and Debit Card
You may donate via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover card. Card payments are processed immediately by Stripe and appear in your statement as a charge from “OCM / [Parish Name].” Card processing includes standard fees (interchange, card network assessments, and Stripe processing fees), which are typically around 2.09% + $0.30 per transaction and are deducted from your donation. Exact rates depend on your card type and are set by Stripe. Current rates are available at stripe.com/pricing. We encourage ACH bank transfers where available, as they incur lower fees.
4.2 ACH Bank Transfer
You may link your bank account via Plaid to enable ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfers. ACH transfers incur lower fees than credit cards and are our preferred method. ACH donations typically settle within 3-5 business days. Your bank account information is transmitted directly to Plaid, a secure third-party service, and is never stored on OCM's servers. Learn more at plaid.com/privacy.
4.3 Processing Timeline
Credit card donations are processed immediately. Bank (ACH) transfers typically settle within 3-5 business days. Your parish will see your donation in its account once it has settled.
5. Recurring Donations
5.1 Setup and Modification
You may set up weekly, monthly, or custom recurring donations. You may change the donation amount, frequency, or payment method at any time via the Platform. Changes take effect on the next scheduled donation date.
5.2 Cancellation
You may cancel a recurring donation at any time. Your cancellation takes effect immediately, and no further donations will be processed. You will receive an email confirmation of cancellation.
5.3 Failed Payment Retry
If a scheduled donation fails (e.g., due to insufficient funds or expired card), we will attempt to retry the donation up to 2 times: once 3 days after the initial failure, and again 5 days after the initial failure. If both retries fail, the recurring donation is paused, and we will notify you by email. You may resume the donation by updating your payment method or scheduling it manually.
6. Refund Policy
Refunds are at the discretion of your parish. If you wish to request a refund or dispute a transaction, please contact your parish's business office directly. Your parish may request that OCM reverse a transaction in the Platform, which results in a reversal entry in the parish's ledger and a credit back to your original payment method (typically within 3-5 business days). Refund requests more than 90 days old may not be reversible due to payment processor limitations.
7. Co-Branded Giving Card
7.1 Card Program Overview
OCM offers a co-branded rewards card for eligible donors. The card is issued by a third-party bank and carries the OCM and your parish's branding. The card is powered by expense card technology and is integrated with the OCM Platform.
7.2 Cardholder Agreement
The co-branded card is governed by a separate Cardholder Agreement provided by the issuing bank. You must agree to that agreement separately to apply for the card. OCM is not the card issuer and does not set interest rates, annual fees, or other card terms (card is fee-free at launch).
7.3 Rewards and Incentives
The co-branded card earns rewards points based on a portion of card interchange fees. These rewards may be redeemed as:
- Statement credits (standard redemption): 0.5 cents per point.
- Donation to your parish (enhanced redemption): 2x value (1 cent per point) as a tax-deductible charitable gift. Points donated to your parish are recorded in the OCM Foundation engagement feature (impact stats, news, volunteering interest form), which supports your giving recognition and parish engagement.
Rewards are earned monthly on card spending. You manage your rewards account via the OCM Platform. The card issuer may change rewards rates with 30 days notice.
8. Tax Receipts and Donor Substantiation
8.1 Annual Giving Statements
OCM generates an annual giving statement showing your cumulative donations by fund and payment method for the calendar year. This statement is available in your OCM Engagement account by January 31st of the following year. You may print or download a PDF of your statement.
8.2 IRS Tax Substantiation
OCM's annual giving statement is a summary of your giving and is not an official IRS tax substantiation document. Your parish is the IRS-recognized charitable organization and must provide you with a formal substantiation letter confirming the tax-deductibility of donations over $250 in any calendar year (per IRS regulations). Request substantiation letters directly from your parish's business office. OCM is not a tax advisor, and we do not provide tax advice.
8.3 Quid Pro Quo Disclosure
If you make a donation of $75 or more and receive goods or services of value from your parish (e.g., a donor appreciation dinner), your parish must disclose the fair market value of those goods or services. This disclosure reduces the tax-deductible portion of your donation. Your parish is responsible for managing and documenting these disclosures. OCM may include space for quid pro quo notation on receipts, but your parish determines the value and disclosure.
9. Your Data and Privacy
9.1 Data Handling
Your personal information (name, email, phone, bank account details, donation history) is collected by OCM and shared with your parish. OCM's handling of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy. Your donation history is visible to your parish's administrators. Your bank account credentials (transmitted to Plaid) are never stored by OCM.
9.2 Privacy Policy
For a detailed explanation of how OCM collects, uses, and protects your information, please review our Privacy Policy at onchristsmission.com/privacy.
9.3 Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data and donation history in your account.
- Request that OCM correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data using the “Delete Account” option in your app settings, or by submitting a data deletion request through our support process. Financial records are retained per IRS 7-year requirement with anonymized donor references.
- Opt out of marketing emails (you will continue to receive transactional emails about your donations).
To exercise these rights, email support@onchristsmission.com or use the Delete Account option in the OCM Engagement app settings.
10. Plaid Disclosure
If you link a bank account via Plaid, you are sharing your bank login credentials with Plaid (not with OCM) to enable both account authentication and transaction access (Auth + Transactions). Plaid is a separate company that securely connects your bank account to the OCM Platform without storing your credentials. Plaid's privacy practices are governed by Plaid's Privacy Policy. Your bank account credentials do not pass through OCM's systems and are never stored, logged, or accessed by OCM personnel.
11. Account Security
11.1 Secure Credentials
Your OCM account is protected by email and password authentication. You may also enable biometric unlock (fingerprint or face recognition) on the OCM Engagement app using Expo's local authentication (your biometric data is stored on your device only, not on OCM's servers).
11.2 Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your password and login credentials confidential. Do not share your password or account access with anyone else. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at support@onchristsmission.com.
11.3 Unauthorized Access
If you discover unauthorized transactions or access, notify OCM and your parish immediately. OCM will work with Stripe and the payment processor to investigate and reverse fraudulent charges (subject to payment processor policies).
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: OCM IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS-IS” BASIS. OCM MAKES NO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OCM'S LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM THIS AGREEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF DONATIONS YOU MADE IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS. IN NO EVENT SHALL OCM BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so this may not apply to you.
13. Changes to These Terms
OCM may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of changes via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. For material changes (such as modifications to fees, payment processing, or your rights), we will seek your affirmative acceptance before the changes apply. If you do not agree with material changes, you may close your account. Your continued use of the Platform after the notice period for non-material changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
14. Contact Information
If you have questions about these Terms, our services, your donations, or your account, please contact us at:
Email: support@onchristsmission.com
Website: onchristsmission.com
15. General Terms
15.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and OCM regarding your use of the Platform.
15.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
15.3 Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us at support@onchristsmission.com. If we cannot resolve the matter to your satisfaction, the parties agree to attempt good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation does not resolve the matter within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to binding arbitration administered by JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services) under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, conducted by a single arbitrator in Charlotte, North Carolina. For disputes involving less than $1,000, you may instead elect to pursue the matter in small claims court in the county where you reside. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
15.4 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
Thank you for your generosity and for using OCM to support your parish.
